Our Family’s Story

Woodside Orchards was started as a small wholesale apple farm located off Manor Lane in Jamesport NY in 1982 by Robert H. Gammon. The business started as a small family run apple orchard that offered fresh fruit and baked goods. Robert and his wife Doris would sell the apples at local farmers markets and on the weekends at “The Apple Shed”, the farm stand on their property in Jamesport.

After college Roberts sons Robert L. Gammon (Bob) Scott Gammon joined him in running the business. As the family grew so did the business, with Bobs wife Amy joining to make the pies and cookies, Roberts daughter Laurie helping with apple bread, Scotts wife Vicky helping with apple butter and candy apples even the grandkids Gayle, David, Julia and Will helping on busy weekends in the fall with The Apple Shed, doughnuts, and u-pick.

In 2002 Bob and Scott bought the property in Aquebogue and built a secondary location to help aid the growing demand for u-pick apples in the fall. In 2012 that location became our tasting room with the release of their first 3 Hard Ciders Traditional, Traditional Sweet and Raspberry.
